The party's coup against its own president, Trump's impeachment bill passed

WASHINGTON: The US House of Representatives has backed the removal of Trump, and the impeachment bill has been passed despite the vice president's refusal.

There have been 223 votes in favor of removing the US president under the 25th Amendment and 205 against. Under the 25th Amendment, the vice president will be asked to take action against Trump.

Prior to the vote, several Republican leaders in Trump's party had made it clear they would support the impeachment.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter and Republican leader Lance Cheney also hinted at voting in favor of the 25th Amendment.

Earlier, US Vice President Mike Pence refused to remove President Donald Trump from office under the 25th Amendment.

Mike Pence said the removal of the US president would create false traditions. The use of the 25th Amendment is not in the interest of the nation.

"I do not think that the 25th Amendment is compatible with the US Constitution," he said.

On the other hand, President Trump has said that there is no danger to me from the 25th amendment that it will be used against Biden.

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the Democratic Party was ready to begin impeachment proceedings this week.

"If Vice President Mike Pence does not agree to the application for the amendment, we will move forward with legislation on impeachment in the House," he said.

Democrats have indicated that the House of Representatives could vote on the impeachment proceedings on Tuesday or Wednesday.

In the United States, the president can be removed from office by the 25th Amendment after suffering a physical and mental illness. This will require the support of a majority of cabinet leaders as well as Vice President Mike Pence. The most important role in this will be played by Vice President Pence.
