Imran Khan's popularity in cricket continues today, 'Dear Indians, don't panic'




Whenever cricket is mentioned in the world, the name of former Pakistan captain Imran Khan is mentioned. There is no doubt that he is still considered a big name in cricket.

 His popularity was also seen when Imran Khan was declared the winner in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) poll titled 'Peace Setters'.

Imran Khan got 47% of the vote, defeating Indian captain Virat Kohli, who got 46% of the vote.

 


Five lakh 36 thousand 346 people participated in this polling.

 

The ICC added three male and one female cricketer in its tweet, saying that these are the cricketers whose batting or bowling average has improved since becoming captain.

The four cricketers named by the ICC include India's Virat Kohli, South Africa's AB de Villiers, Australian women's cricketer Meg Lanning and former Pakistan captain Imran Khan.

The ICC asked people in the polls to decide which of the four has performed best since becoming captain.

According to the ICC's figures for the four cricketers in its tweet, Imran Khan averaged 25.43 in Test batting and 25.53 in bowling before becoming captain. But after becoming the captain, his batting average improved to 52.34 while his bowling average also dropped significantly to 20.26%.

Virat Kohli's batting average as a normal player was 51.29 per cent which has risen to 73.88 per cent since he became the captain.

AB de Villiers, who is known for his power-hitting, had an ODI batting average of 45.97 per cent before he became the captain, and 63.94 per cent after becoming the captain.

Meg Lanning's ODI batting average was 43.87% before becoming captain, which improved after becoming captain and reached 60.93.
