President's notice on Lahore online banking fraud
President Dr. Arif Alvi took notice of the laundering of lakhs of rupees by 16 account holders in Lahore banking fraud.
The Presidency directed the affected citizens to approach the concerned bank for refund.
The President has also said that if the bank does not take action, an application should be made to the ombudsman and if the victims do not get relief from there, then an appeal should be made to the President.
It may be recalled that a few days ago in Lahore, 16 customers of a private bank were robbed in a single day through online banking fraud.
The manager of the private bank apologized for speaking to SAMAA. However, bank staff have expressed suspicion of hacking.
