Thirteen-year-old Hindu girl abducted, married to a Muslim, family

A family in Kashmore's Tangwani taluka says their 13-year-old daughter was abducted from her home.

Talking to Samaa Digital, the girl's father Takht Mill said that his daughter Quetta was abducted from her house by 5 people on March 8, but nothing is known about her yet.

The family of the abducted girl has registered an FIR against the kidnappers.  In his statement to the police, the girl's father said that five people dragged my daughter out of the house and fled in a car.

Takht-e-Mill told police that they knew four of the five men, Mushtaq, Bhoral, Rustam and Muhammad Bakhsh, two of whom had pistols in their hands, who told us not to resist and  They said that we would marry her eagerly.

According to a video received by SAMAA Digital, Quetta converted to Islam on Tuesday (March 9th) in Daharki in front of Pir Abdul Khaliq, the caretaker of Qadriyah Bharchandi Sharif Monastery.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh and lawyer Virji Kohli said that the girl has been shifted from Kashmore to Ghotki where she was produced before the court.  Quetta has appealed to her family for protection, as she claims to have married Mushtaq without the consent of her parents.

SSP Kashmore Amjad Sheikh confirmed that the girl appeared in court on Wednesday and told the judge that she was over 18 years old.

"We do not have a law that proves that someone has been forcibly converted because girls or young women appear before a judge and say that they have converted without any pressure," Kohli said.  Is.  However, he added that the police would deal with the case under the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act.

The Sindh Assembly had unanimously passed the Child Marriage Restraint Act in 2014, under which the minimum age of marriage for boys and girls was fixed at 18 years and the move was made a punishable offense.  A person over the age of 18 and found to be involved in child marriage can be sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Virji Kohli believes that the court may order a medical examination of Quetta to check her age and if her age is proved to be less than 18 years, the marriage will be annulled.
