Shinira Karam, wife of national cricketer Sim Akram, challenged the female owners of a restaurant in Islamabad to compete in speaking English by sharing a mocking video of a manager unfamiliar with English.
Two days ago, a video went viral on social media in the Federal Capital Territory in which the owners of a restaurant called Canoli and Dia were making fun of their manager's English. When the video went viral, social media users, including showbiz personalities, criticized the restaurant owner and demanded a boycott of the hotel.
Shinira Akram, an Australian who does not speak Urdu, also took to Twitter to express her reaction, saying she could understand how it feels to be forced to speak a different language.
Shanera lamented the move by the restaurant owners and challenged them to speak English on Instagram.
Sharing the viral video, Shaneera said sarcastically, "I am also bored, so I challenge you two women to compete in English."
In the video, Azmi and Dia introduce themselves in English and say that we were getting bored, so we introduce you to our manager.
Introducing the questions asked in English, he said that he has been working here for 9 years.
The lady heard the manager's English and asked how many English classes she had taken. She later jokingly said that these are our managers who have been with us for 9 years and this is the best English they speak.
The restaurant later issued a statement after the video went viral on social media and was criticized.

Speaking to media at the Foreign Office on Thursday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that China has promised to give 500,000 doses of vaccine to Pakistan by January 31, 2021, while it has also asked for more doses of coronavirus vaccine by February. This is a welcome development.

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has received evidence of PML-N leader Khawaja Asif's overseas business partnership.
According to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) documents, Khawaja Asif partnered with a Japanese restaurant in Dubai and in this partnership, Khawaja Asif received Rs 136 million from abroad.
Khawaja Asif terminated his partnership with a foreign restaurant in 2012.

PESHAWAR: Lack of facilities has been revealed in 868 schools of Peshawar district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the report of Independent Monitoring Unit, 868 schools in Peshawar were surveyed which lacked facilities while a plan for rehabilitation of 277 schools has been approved.
The Independent Monitoring Unit sent a survey to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on the lack of facilities in schools.
According to sources, it has been decided to improve the condition of 277 schools in the initial phase. The report identified poor sanitation, clean drinking water, lack of washrooms and dilapidated condition of the building.
Of the schools surveyed, 302 are in Town-to-Peshawar, 283 in Town-Four, 176 in Town-3 and 107 in Town.

An anti-drug court heard a drug trafficking case against Rana Sanaullah.
PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah appeared in the court along with his lawyer. The lawyer told the court that the ANF had provided all copies of the document and the court could look into the case file.
Lawyer Rana Sanaullah told the court that the ANF had investigated more than 100 people and the salary account should be frozen. Identity cards have also been blocked due to which the accused is fed up with household expenses.

In Chaklala area of Rawalpindi, a young man was hit by a train while making a tuk tuk and died.
According to the police, the youth was making a video for a tuck talk near the railway track with his friend when he collided with the train and got into an accident. The incident took place on Friday, January 22.
A friend of the deceased youth said that the victim was interested in making new tick-tock videos.
The deceased youth has been identified as Hamza. The young man died on the spot due to a head injury.
Rescue teams shifted the body to the hospital for autopsy, from where the body was later handed over to heirs. Hamza will be buried in Rawalpindi.
